Here is a handy-dandy LEED AP Exam Blank Study Guide . If you can fill this out by memory before you take the exam, you’re looking real good as far as knowing all of the credits. Fill it out now, see what you know – and more importantly, notice what you need to work on. Study some more, then try to fill this out again – rinse and repeat until you’ve got it down.
Here is a preview:
Updated on Feb. 22, 2008 – added column names on each page
LEED-blanksheet.pdf (34,420 downloads)
It’s a 13 page, printer-friendly 8.5 x 11 worksheet. Click the link above to download.
Of course, memorizing all of the credits will not guarantee the correct answers to every single exam question – but it will definitely help you. For a list of the (other) things you will be tested on, please visit the What to Study page. I hope this helps! Cheers!

Excellent self-study resource! Thanks for thinking of this, Pat!
That’s a great study guide to have. This site is really starting to come along, Pat. Good job! Resources like this will definitely bring in more readers.
this is really really helpful! thanks alot, i was just wondering if there was a completely completed blank study guide, i am having a difficult time fitting everything in the intent and implementation box….
great! i am not sure to do this! maybe i will try!
The link is no longer working for this!? Could someone possibly email it to me directly.
I don’t know what happened to the download plugin i had on my website, but i reposted the sheets manually so that you can get to them again. Sorry for the confusion – and thanks for letting me know, Paul!
Is there anywhere/anyone that does a seminar or workshop then provides the LEED AP exam after?
What does the Sub. Phase mean?
Hi CM, it means Submittal Phase. Thanks!
hello everyone,
I’m going to take the exam on Dec.22/08 and still not really sure, if am on right track, coz, too much input to review, and reading all this comments and suggestions makes the matter more worst. can you please help narrow it in such a way, i can fully understand, what to review first…right now am just reading (NCv2.2 ref.guide(3rd edit Oct/07), thanks
Happy Holidays 🙂
Hi,
I think this Blank guide is a great idea, I am preparing through this, I just wish to share one small thing that I am writing the credit & prerequisite’s shot form for memorization like FCOBES I.E. Fundamental commissioning of Building energy systems or SS I.E. Sustainable site or DD&CC I.E. Development Density & community connectivity, It’s helping me. It might help you as well, so thought of sharing.
Regards

On the Blank Study Guide, what is a Sub. Phase?
Submittal Phase as in “Design” or “Construction” submittal phase for credits.
I really like this worksheet look, as it sticks all the pertinent info on a few pages.
I’ve done a blank run through once, and it helped point out my deficiencies in Materials & Resources section. (All those $%^&% percentages…)
And a few other random credits that usually are in the middle of the sections…quiet little ones that you wouldn’t normally notice.
Well I am about to take the test and I figured Id upload my study notes for others to use (50 megs of LEED compiled over the last 5 months).
Basically Ive done the following for each and every credit:
1. Created an outline which is more detailed than the summary pages in the Ref. book, but not AS detailed as the entire credit literature.
2. Created a comprehensive list of concepts and terminology and applied them to each credit.
3. Charts, images, and supporting documentation to clarify things.
4. Sample credit submittals

Hope it helps out, good luck to all… and good luck to me (test date is 23rd)

WELL AS I SEE ALL OF YOU GUYS ARE IN THE LOOP REGARDING THIS EXAM.. SO FOR SHYTS AND GIGGLES IM TAKING MY EXAM THIS FRIDAY,
YES I AM REALLY NERVOUS AND I REALLI SLAKED ON STUDYING SO IM
GONNA FILL OUT THAT BLANK STUDY GUIDE AS MUCH AS I CAN
BUT LET ME TELL U I DIDNT THINK THIS TEST WAS GONNA BE AS DIFFICULT AS I THOUGHT REGARDLESS I WILL POST AGAIN ON FRIDAY NIGHT TO LET YOU KNOW HOW IT WENT
I have a general question about the credits
Are there going to be any questions involving how many credits are in each section and how many points are possible in each section?
~Amy
Pat,
Just a quick note of THANKS! for your great website. It gave me some great tips (WIMSEE and the Study Guide), and by reading the comments I got some good mnemonics (62 and 52 rhyme with “phew”, which has to do with air venting, and 52 and “filter” both start with “f”, etc.).
I tried the GBES on-line tests, and was freaking out the night before, as the highest I’d scored was 58%. They must skew low, tho, because yesterday I PASSED WITH 180!!
Thanks again!!!
amyjolindgren,
Yes, there may be. More likely, you’ll get questions along the lines of “if you document x% of renewable energy use, how many points are you eligible for?”
Good luck!
it says you have to be registered to get the download….how do you register or just get the download?
Amazing website!
Unfortunately, I’m not able to download the pdf of the blank study guide though. Not sure if it’s my computer or the link …
Thanks
Hi Tiffany, it should be working now. Thanks for letting me know!
just wanted to say thank you so much for the charts, even though i was studying canadian content behind the US ones, your website was very helpful! especially the study charts!
Thanks Heather! I appreciate that!
Hey Pat,
I just wanted to say thanks for this website. I wrote the LEED Canada NC exam this afternoon and scored a 192. What a feeling of accomplishment.
To all who have not written your LEED exam, the blank study guide, I believe was the key to passing the exam as you need to know “Everything”. Also follow “5 Days Left Until LEED Test – Plan of Attack” it gets you focused on getting the studying done.
Thank you to the individuals who participate in posting advice on your web page.
Cheers
